Day 9: Book Club I love my monthly book club meetings: great food, great company, great conversation (YES, we genuinely talk about the book, I swear!). It's been a pleasure exercising the eternal-student side of my brain with this group of incredibly intelligent women--swapping stories, bits of knowledge and challenging each others perceptions. It's also always a treat to be spoiled by whomever the host of the month is--who knew so many of my friends could cook so well?! And always keeping my pescatarian opportunivore status in mind? Now that is a thoughtful bunch. This month's read was The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet and I recommend it to anyone who has a soft spot for (generally speaking) historically accurate pieces with a romance woven in. Not a pulse racing page turner, but definitely a tale worth snuggling up to.
