“The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.” -Bob Moawad

There's something spectacular in a pink sky, isn't there? "Pink sky at night, sailor's delight" was an expression used in my house growing up. As a kid it always gave me a sort of hopeful energy for what tomorrow would bring within its sunny hours. It allowed me to sleep in excited anticipation for a beautiful day ahead.

A few realities came to the forefront of my consciousness last weekend that threw me for a bit of loop. The tidbits of a-long-time-coming information hit me in a totally weird, unexpected way. They were a confusing balance of relief, affirmation and happiness for another, as well as a surprising sense of finality and loss. They were the result of my choices (which I do not regret, at their core) and they admittedly made me want to...please excuse me...punch my ego in the baby maker. Hard.

After a period of (for lack of a better word) "processing"...here's what I know for sure:

1. As always, everything will be OK.

2. What a perfect gift I've been given to fully let go and release responsibility, guilt and fear. What a perfect opportunity to freely make my life my own.

3. Life is a funny little force. Mine, in particular, never ceases to amaze, confuse, excite or challenge me. It can be messy and unsure as it's a forever work in process...

4. ...but at least now, finally, it's authentic.

And that certainly counts for something.

Regardless of the unknown, authenticity is something to be proud of.

For me, blue skies are cheerful, positive and gratitude filled. Grey skies are the opportunity to regroup, reset and quietly introspect.

But pink skies....

Pink skies are ever so deliciously hopeful.

Wishing you pink skies,

Trish
