A few Winter favorites right now: * William Sonoma Essential Oils Boxed Candle in Spiced Chestnut. This makes our home smell like the holidays in that "Did you just bake something decadent?" kind of way. * Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt cologne. I have a very hard time finding scents that don't bother my overly keen sense of smell, to the extent that I avoid most perfumes to inevitably avoid a headache. But this new fragrance from Jo Malone is exactly right on my skin during these crisp, chilled days of the year. I don't know if it will transition over in summer (when, truthfully, my favorite smell is sunscreen) but I'm enjoying lightly misting it on before heading out these days. * A little tray of crystals, as curated by yours truly in a tiny, hippie, exotically far east shop in Haight Ashbury. Each has a beautiful energy, though I can't for the life of me keep any of them straight. I think I was too intoxicated by the incense (or whatever that was...this is SF, after all) burning to really remember each description. B thinks it's funny to occasionally say to me "ooo I like your gems" as he passes my night stand, and it's hard not to still giggle at his poking fun at my hokey. There is also a lovely, new tanzanite ring I keep with said gems -- a thank you gift from my last gig as a Reverend, purchased from my favorite author's delightful shop in Frenchtown, NJ. A thoughtful and much loved present for sure. * Weleda Skin Food. Winter is dry skin o'clock for me, and this cream is so thick I only need to slather it on my hands, arms and tootsies two to three times a week to fight back the itchies. If you are not a fan of really thick lotions, you'd best pass on this. But if you'd like to nourish your skin without a laundry list of chemicals you can hardly pronounce, I can't recommend this cream enough. * And finally, the best damn highlighter I've ever used (slightly off color due to my double dipping post-blush application) : RMS Living Luminizer. Also a healthier, non-toxic choice for your face, I have been asked no less than 4 times if I recently got a facial while rocking this product. It's a breeze to dab or swipe up the ol' cheek bones (and even a touch in the corner of the eye) to instantly brighten and illuminate your look. I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to December! love and light, Trish
